Reviews/Testimonials
"The HD-DVD player looks FANTASTIC! It looked blah through component and I
was beginning to wonder what all the HD fuss was about. NOT ANYMORE! HDMI made a
world of difference. LOVE IT!" - Wipron (Sony IFB-HD user)
"I just got my new high-end IFB-HD yesterday evening (Aug 28 '07) and got it
installed today. I previously had a Moome IFB DVI card (got it in March ’06) and
used it in my Sony G70. The upgrade is immediate and noticeable on several
fronts:
- Shadow detail! There is now shadow detail in HD content,
- Quicker HDCP handshakes with finicky players like my Toshiba HD-A1,
- Even component looks a ton better. Gamma has a bit to do with it, but also
signal looks ‘cleaner’,
- IR Control of inputs and minor gamma tuning is handy
- Gamma correction, I can actually see all the gradations in DVE-HD now.
Installing was straight forward, and worked right off the bat. Very happy with
it. Even though it took a long time to receive, it was worth the wait. Thanks
Moome, great work." - JonFo (Sony IFB-HD user)
"This thing Rocks, Thanks Moome!!! I am seeing a much broader pallet of
colors I have not seen before and the detail and sharpness are there. I love to
look for the background detail in images and it is all there with this card and
gives it that 3D look. Oh, but the colors. man!" - DB Cooper
(VIM-HD user) "I ordered my Moome VIM-HD Deluxe (Marquee
version) and received it exactly 2 weeks later - not bad at all I thought. I had
a version 2 (non-gamma) Moome card already, so I was anxious to see the
difference in this newest and greatest version. I first watched a variety of
HD-TV and HD-DVD with the "old" card installed, just to refresh my eyes and
brain as to the excellent quality of those images. In the meantime, I ran my new
"Series-F" HDMI cable from BlueJeansCable.com from my equipment rack to my
projector. Then I installed the new card in my Marquee and settled down with a
frosty adult beverage to view. First, let me reiterate that I always have been
impressed by the quality of the picture I got with the previous Moome card, both
on cable HD-TV and from my Toshiba HD-A1 DVD player. I was a little apprehensive
that I spent the $435 on a card that would simply be a replacement for what I
already had. Well, I am happy to report that the picture is even better than
before!!!! It is more than subtle that the colors and black levels are still
there while the details in both dark and light scenes are more pronounced. I
also see an increase in sharpness, which I was already more than happy with from
the "old" card. I have more work to do in dialling in the gamma boost, but I
wanted to let others know that this card is well worth the price and that they
should place their order(s) for the upcoming batch of cards before they are sold
out." - Gary (VIM-HD user)
"I am not by any stretch as critical a watcher as many here are, quoting
numbers and percentages, just not in my bag of tricks yet. With that disclaimer
I honestly can say I can no longer imagine my theater without a Moome card. ZERO
installation issues. Zero hand shake issues and Absolutely stunning on screen
images. I am a relative newbie to HT, my first was a well used D50 which to me
opened my eyes to CRT and whetted my appetite for more. Now with my G70, 106"
wide screen, Samsung BD-P1200, Toshiba HD-A2, Denon1600 SDI, DVDO iScan HD+,
Monoprice switcher, Monoprice DVI to HDMI from iScan to Moome v 1.32 IFB-HD
with Gamma, simply UNBELIEVABLE! Never a single hiccup. Well done Mr Moome. A
great big thanks to you. Thumbsup!" - Ray (IFB-HD user)
"I received the card in under two weeks. After calibration of the Marquee and
Iscan, i put in the dvd: Star wars 3. The colors are very good, and the
sharpness wow!! Thanks to Moome" - Opno (VIM-HD user)
"Received my EXT box yesterday and hooked it up today. Only tested the
component inputs and the picture looks much improved. As in sharper, darker and
richer colors. Have not played with the Gamma yet. I replace Petr's transcoder
with Moome's and very happy with it. Not knocking Petr's unit at all, it has
performed great until now and will be my back up. Thanks Moome." -
Whizzard94 (EXT-HD user)
"I plugged in the component input (no HDMI cables yet for my Sat box) and it
works - seems sharper and more vibrant than my Key digital KD-CTCA2." -
Ralpharch (EXT-HD user)
"First off I would not call myself an expert by any stretch of the
imagination, but here's what I have seen so far, I have not gone thru all the
adjustments, but component input seems on par with the Petr's transcoder I am
using on my Barco 1209 port 5 input. As a reference point I pre-ordered directly
from Moome in the last week of May or the first week of June. The postmark on
the package was the 16th and it arrived here on the 18th, so pretty fast from
Taiwan." - Guthrie4 (EXT-HD user)
"I just received my EXT boxes this Saturday. When I hook it
up directly from my XA2 to the scaler, it works flawlessly with no hiccups or
colorspace issues - clearly superior to using the analog component outputs from
my XA2 into the scaler. The difference that Moome's new EXT-HD box made when
feeding my scaler is far more than subtle - It is so apparent that it makes me
think something was wrong with my [scaler's] analog input!" - Boilermaker
(EXT-HD user)
"I was using the internal card and switched to the EXT box.
The image is noticeably sharper with better black levels than the older
generation IFB HDMI card. Definitely recommended." - HaydnG90
(EXT-HD user)
"I'd like to share my customer service experience that I have had over the
past few weeks with Moome and his IFB-HD card. I recently had a electrical spike
that took out my IScan VP20 scaler HDMI input, an HDMI cable, and Moome my
IFB-HD card. I got thinking that this was going to be a tiresome and costly
exercise of sending the card back to Moome in Taiwan. After 24 hours, my email
was answered and an address, telephone number and instructions in it. Awesome!
So i sent it off, hoping that I'd see my somewhat expensive piece of silicon
back in my hands! Did the same with the VP20, although that only had to be sent
to a local shop. After a few update emails from Moome, the card is now back in
my hands some 4 weeks later. What a fantastic turnaround! I am simply
amazed at how fast Moome was able to receive the card, diagnose and wait for
parts, test and ship back to me! The main reason I'm writing this is to let
people know out there that my experience with Moome and his company have been
fantastic, and the customer service is next to none! I understand he is very
busy with his company and yet still found the time to help me out. Thank you
Moome! P.S. Still waiting on my VP20 to come back from the 'local' place here in
Melbourne..." - Kurt (IFB-HD user)
"What can I say about Moome's after sales service, the man is very helpful
and I can assure you his main concern after a sale is to look after his customer
in difficulty. I am now running 1080i HDMI NOTICEABLY clearer than 1080i
component now. Had to also set input setting from RGB to HD-RGB but bloody hell,
what an amazing difference. 1080i through HDMI is a good 20% clearer than the
best I had with component through the projector." - Adam (IFB-HD user)
"Just bought my THIRD Moome IFB-HD card. I've setup a couple CRT
projector theaters for friends lately. They got interested in having a theater
after watching movies in mine. When they find out the Moome card is what I use
in my theater for HD goodness, they want a Moome card too. I really hope I
NEVER have to live without a Moome IFB-HD. I know there are a lot of options
out there, but for my money the Moome IFB-HD has won 3 separate times. Thanks
again Mr Moome Thumbs-up!" - Ray
"The picture quality is amazing! Way better than before on my Sony
1272 by a long shot." - JKruger "We were able to
get the card up and running, and it looks great!" - Danny Richelieu,
