This home theater had a full ISF calibration
done by Ken Whitcomb who has long been an expert
in CRT calibration. It took approximately 24 man
hours to align the two Sony G90s to be perfectly
calibrated. About 12 of those hours were spent
on focusing! The end result is the sharpest
image I have ever seen coming out of a CRT
projector! Here’s Ken in action with his light
and colorimeter:
A stacked projector setup does require
occasional calibration as two projectors that
are displaying one image will drift a bit from
time to time. Using a wired remote connected
directly to the projector allows for up close
screen alignment.
And finally, what’s a theater without people
in it? That’s what every home theater should be
designed for, to be USED!
