Video Problems: Obscure Convergence Problems
All Barco projectors consist of the
convergence driver section and the
convergence output section. The driver
stage is controlled by the keypad and
convergence parameter settings, and the
convergence output section really is
just a booster amplifier for the driver
board. The output amplifier runs hotter
than the driver board, but failures can
occur in both areas. (The Barco 800 and
801 sets have the driver and output
sections on one large board).
If you ramp a convergence parameter from 0 to 100 but nothing happens,
chances are there’s a problem in the output section, or one of the other signals
required for convergence to work is missing.
