Video Problems: Convergence Fluttering or Pulsing
On occasion a fault will occur in the
convergence board, especially the older
800 and 801 sets that will cause the
convergence test grid to pulse or
flutter. Some parameters will not work,
or work in a strange manner. These
problems are almost always confined to
the convergence board itself. To test if
a convergence board is causing strange
actions, turn the set off and pull out
the convergence board. The set will now
work without convergence, and any
anomalies that the convergence board has
injected into the image should now be
eliminated.
