Barco 500/800/801
Processor board
The processor board is the main CPU board, and controls all functions of the
projector, convergence, and stores the internal menus and hour counter. The
LED’s on the processor board actually tell you far less about the functioning of
the projector than the power supply LED’s and scan fail LED.
The DIP switches on the controller board serve a few functions. The left bank of
DIP switches set the projector address so that one remote control or one
computer can control several projectors. I always set the address to 0, it
ensures that the remote control can easily be reset if it glitches.
The right side of DIP switches have switches to turn the password on and off,
and that set the projector to auto power up once the AC power is applied to the
line cord.
Failure of the controller board is very rare. The hour counter of the CRT run
time cannot be reset unless you change the EPROM chip. The Barco sets display
total chassis on time, and not the CRT run time.
