CRT socket
The below image is of the NEC PG and PG+ CRT sockets. There are very few
parts on these sockets, the NEC PG Xtra ones are a bit more complex, as they
have the video output chip and circuitry on them.
Once in a blue moon the CRT socket will go bad, more likely on the NEC Xtra with
the chip on it. On occasion but rarely, a shorted CRT tube will damage the CRT
socket assembly which is usually an easy repair.
