RGB/Video board(s)
There are two different versions for almost every Barco analog convergence
model, specifically the DATA series of sets. Shown below is the RGB
version of the video board. You see that the board is split up into three more
or less identical sections, one section for the red, blue and green signals
coming from the RGB inputs. What’s really important to note with these boards is
that THE VIDEO INPUT ON THE BACK OF THE SET IS NOT CONNECTED THROUGH TO THE
TUBES. Again, if an RGB only board is installed in this slot , the VIDEO
input will do nothing. The signal path dead-ends at this board, since it has no
video circuitry on it.
There is a quad decoder version of this board available for the Data
projectors, I believe however it was an option. It has substantially more
components on it than the RGB only board, and is hard to find on the used parts
market.
