Between the G and B tubes are the DD and DE boards. Note that not every set
has these boards. These are extra D/A converters and zone convergence boards.
Note: All it takes for a 1251 to become a 1271 is the installation of a newer
DD and DE board from a 1271 projector. Doing so will give the 1251 the 21 zone
convergence and higher bandwidth found on the 1271. This will only work if
the 1251 main board has the two slots between the green and red tube needed.
The HV splitter is located above the DD and DE boards. To remove the HV
leads, pull back on the rubber boot that covers the lead. Push down HARD on the
red HV lead going into the splitter while twisting it in a CCW direction about
120 degrees. Then the HV lead should pull right out. If it does not, repeat the
procedure until the HV lead comes out easily. Installation of the HV lead into
the splitter is the reverse of the above.
