Focus Block Replacement

 (Page 3)

Page: 1 2 3 4 5

Before installing the new focus block rotate each of the 6 controls fully clockwise, then back to fully CCW. In the rare case of one of the focus controls cracking in transit, you can destroy all three CRT’s. By rotating the controls fully, you check for the integrity of all controls. Set each control back to the full CCW position before powering the set up.

The above picture shows the HV divider portion of the new block. The HV connections are bayonet type connectors, untwist the HV lead about 90 degrees and pull straight out to get the wire out, do the reverse when installing the HV leads in the new block.

The new block comes with two brackets. One bracket looks very similar to the one on the old block, but offsets the HV divider section slightly so that it does not hit the deflection board. Use the two screws off the old HV divider bracket to mount the new bracket to the new block. It’s usually easier to snake the new block in from the inside of the set, and leave the control section hanging inside the CRT area of the set.
