Registration Board:
The above picture shows the top side of the registration (convergence) board.
This board has the digital convergence circuits in it to set geometry and
convergence for each color. There are no used adjustable settings on these
boards, and should be replaced on an exchange basis to test for faults on these
boards.
Faults include overheating resistors on the convergence output board, and bad
chips on the convergence board that cause an ’08 at 4e’ or similar error. This
is a data communications error between the CPU board and the registration board,
and are very difficult to locate and trace.
