Layout and Setup Tips

This section is a supplement to the Barco 808 information already found in here as the 1208 chassis is similar in layout to the 808.

The information below lists what is different from in the 1208 versus what the 808 chassis uses. Note that while the layout of the basic chassis is very similar to that of the 808, virtually no boards will interchange between the 808 and 1208 models. The power supplies, AC input, horizontal and vertical boards and H shift boards are completely different and can and will cause other components to blow if interchanged with one another. With certain models, the EHT board, quadrupler, splitter and RGB switcher boards will swap between the 808 and 1208 models. The rule of thumb is, if the 761XXX or 762XXX board numbers are the same, they will switch. If they are different, DO NOT substitute the boards.

Note: All LED’s in Barcos are color coded.

Green = good and indicate a normal operating condition
Red = bad and indicates a problem. A red LED that is on may not indicate an actual fault, it can indicate a lack of sync or signal, but in general, all red LED’s should be off when the set is in operation and has a video signal fed to it.

Left side

There’s not too much to say about the above image. The layout is the same as the 808 chassis, but with different part numbers for the three boards shown.
