AC input board
The above PC board is called the AC input board and is located under a metal
cover on the right side of the set (facing the set floor mounted from the back).
This AC input board has the 110/220 volt jumper wire on it that is reversed 180
degrees to switch the set to 220V operation. To the right of the jumper wire are
two 5 or 10 amp AC input fuses that protect the set from dead shorts and the odd
power surge. It is possible for one of these fuses to blow for no reason, and
this is the first place to look if the set is completely dead.
The above two fuses are original Barco fuses and are made of ceramic. These
are called ‘explosion proof’ fuses, and need to be measured with a continuity
tester to see if they are blown or good. Most replacement fuses are clear and
have a visible link as to whether they are blown or not.
