ACON/CC boards

Shown below are the ACON camera and Contrast Modulation (CC) board locations.

The ACON board works in conjunction with the front mounted ACON camera that mounts below the green lens when installed. (the ACON was an option and was not sold with most Marquee projectors).

The ACON camera allowed for semi-automatic convergence of the Marquee projectors. Note that the ACON is prone to failure, and as you can always do a better convergence job manually. The ACON PC board usually doesn’t fail, but the optics in the camera get dusty, so if your ACON stops working properly, pull the camera apart and give it a good cleaning. If by chance the PC board shorts out and the set starts pulsing when you turn it on, pull out the ACON board, the set will run without it. The set will start working normally if there’s a fault on the ACON board.

Similar to the ACON board, the CC board in the Marquee rarely fails and the board can be pulled out and the set will run without it. The CC board allows for zone color correction and it’s functions are accessed in the color temperature menu in the service menu. The board is quite reliable, failure is rare.
